Diagnosis that has been suggested:
diagnosed with lupus SLE on 6/12/08
Current medical status: diagnosed with
lupus SLE on 6/12/08 and put on plaquenil
6/12/08 which seemed fine until a few days
ago started with lumpy skin and extreme
fatique and ending up with a terrible rash
that started on back and chest and spread
all over my body and is currently
everywhere - worst on face and head
Current medical treatment: 6/5/08 on call
dr (sheumatologies office) told me to stop
taking plaquenil and take some benedryl
6/6/08 allergy dr agreed, said needed to
hold on until monday when I could see my
rheumatologist) 6/6/08 went to urgent med
out of desperation, got rx hydrocortisone
for face, advised take lots of atarax
Fatigue is the most common side effect
from Plaquenil and skin rashes are also
very common. If these side effects are
unbearable for you, you can quit the
Plaquenil and try a different medicine.
You need to consult a rheumatologist about
the further therapy.
