Hi, I am pregnant with my second. The first pregnancy was a piece of cake, no problems, vaginal birth. With this pregnancy I had a major bleed at 14 weeks that ended up being referred to as a threatened miscarriage. Was diagnosed at that time with Placenta Previa but assured that it would likely resolve. Another moderate bleed at 16 weeks, previa still present. Recently had the 18 week US and was told that not only do I have a complete Placenta Previa (anterior) but that there was a venous lake present. I was called back the day after the US because the radiologist wanted more images of the lake. He then reported that it was probably not a venous lake but a residual or leftover from the major bleed at 14 weeks. My doctor says that the previa will not likely resolve (though "stranger things have happened"). I am so frustrated and of course petrified that my baby boy is not receiving adequate nutrition and of course would prefer a vag birth... I really like my doc but he has been so laissez faire and almost all of my info has been from the web because he is not very forthcoming. Is the presence of the lake with the previa more likely to complicate this pregnancy? What are the risks to my baby? Has anyone seen a complete anterior previa resolve it time for a vag birth?
Thank you!!
