Q: Placenta previa and large venous lake

Does anyone know what the outlook for delivery or any possible dangers for these?
I am 25 weeks pregnant and last month they found a large venous lake on the tip of my placenta (the venous lake is over my cervix on the placenta) which is previa. I got another ultra sound yesterday and the placenta has only moved 2-3 cm back from my cervix and the venous lake has gotten bigger. They told it it should have just corrected itself. Please help me with any information you might have about these two subjects, thanks

Venous lakes are a normal finding in the placenta. What they are seeing is probably a lake at the edge of the palcenta, or a marginal sinus, also normal.
As long as your placenta is more than 2 cm away from the cervical opening then it is considered safe. Is the venous lake still convering the cervix?

Answer to your question..

The venous lake is on the outer tip facing the cervix and it stretches from top to bottom, however it’s not over the cervix, just facing it. It moved back 2 cms from the cervix. Is there any possibilities of me hemorrhaging during my c-section? Thanks for all your help!

No there is no increased risk of hemorrhage. They are being careful by giving you a c-section.

placenta lake

hello!I'm 14 weeks pregnant and after light bleeding my doctor discovered a placenta lake about 1cm long.Does it have anything to do with the bleeding and is it dangerous for the baby? Thanks in advanced, Evi.

I got my venus lake around the same time, and i was having bleeding too. Doctors told me i could do normal everyday things but once i quit my job and stayed off my feet as much as possible, the bleeding stopped. If the blood is brown its not as big of a worry I started having red blood which was scary. my suggestion STAY OFF THE FEET (as much as you can) just relax and let that baby develope without you getting stressed and worried over what MAY be happening.
