Q: placenta prevara

The doctor said I have Placenta pravera... okay one question what is that and two is that bad? All she (the doctor) said what that I would have to watch that with more sonos...(I love sonos) and be carful.... Shocked ????? So anything anyone could tell me that would be great!


I have another Sono June 2nd also because they thing there maybe somthing wroong with his heart.... Sad

Placenta previa is when the placenta is low lying in the womb. It's quite common early on in pregnancy & gets less common as time goes by. There's only a real problem if the condition doesn't resolve itself by the end of the pregnancy.. there's no way you could have a vaginal birth with placenta previa, the risk of blood loss is too high. Try not to worry too much right now though.. you're in good hands.

Don't worry until your next scan. I was told at my 20 week scan that my placenta was laying low. It is very common and in most pregnancies they go up as the baby grows. If the placenta is still low at your next scan you wont be able to give birth naturally. I have my scan 10th June, so i hope the placenta has gone up. Good luck x

Forgot to mention, if you have any bleeding whatsover it is important you go to hospital right away. That's what i was told

Thanks thats good to know. I have another sono the 2nd so I will keep you all updated on weather or not it moves throughout all my scans... i hope it does... i have heard its easier natrual then c-section, because they cut the muscles... Shocked Yikes...Lol.
