Q: Placenta Abruption

I had a placenta abruption at 40wks and 3days. Every checkup I had, the baby and I were both o.k. ON April 16/09 I went in because I had a bit of bleeding, They performed ultrasounds and everything was normal, I was in the hospital for about 12hrs. I also had severe (Pupps)a horrible type of rash. I wanted the dr to induce me at 38wks, the answer I got was 'no' and that the baby is due anytime. Unfortunately I woke up on the 23rd of April to a gush of blood. I had an emergency c-section. My son had passed away.
Our baby was conceived thru (icsi) because we are unable to conceive naturally. My question is how long should we wait before we have the FET (frozen embryo transfer)? What are the chances of having an abruption again? What precautions should be taken before having the FET?

I am so sad, it wasn't easy for us to get pregnant and when we did for the first time, it ended in a tragedy. I am so angry at the dr.s here for not inducing me at 38wks. Than I think to myself if our son was meant to live he would have. Are there anyone who had a similar situation and had a successful subsequent pregnancies?

placenta apruption
I too had a placenta apruption in the 37th week. Every check up showed that my baby & myself were ok. On 11th Apr 09, we both were fine & placental abruption occured on 13.04.09. Drs say I must have hurt myself. cannot handle this at all.
Want to get pregnant now but what if the same happens again.. am scared! I'm 36, not a hypertension patient. What should I do? Please let me know if there's anyone has had successful subsequent pregnancies.

Extremely eHealthy
You can try to conceive for second time, but, you'll need to wait at least a year.
If you conceive earlier, your chances for placenta abruption are much higher.
There is a clinical data about an increased risk of placenta abruption when conceiving a second pregnancy within a year of a cesarean.
Women that have experience this pregnancy complication have 15% risk to experiences it once more in later pregnancies.
Pregnant women after forties and women with excess amniotic fluid also have greater chances for placenta abruption.
This complication can't be predicted, but, the pregnant woman will need to have controlled blood pressure, blood sugar levels and to avoid smoking cigarettes.

Best wishes!
