I am a 22 years old male. I believe I am affected with what is called "pinworms" (yellowish worms about 1 inch length). I've had it since I was 13 years old. At first I was really embarrased to ask for any treatment, I still am, but I really want this thing to go away. In the past year I've taken a medecine called "Pin-x" 3 times and it didn't work. I don't know if I should take a larger dose than recommmended. I am 186 lbs. 6 feet 2 in. I have to deal with those worms coming out of my anus everyday. It's pretty embarrassing but I can't take it anymore. Should I take a bigger dose? Are there any other medecine available that I could use? Is it maybe not pinworm but something else?
How do I get rid of it?

Thank you

got pinworms 1st time ever this Christmas - using pork sausage meat for the stuffing was the culprit i think!!...any never realised I had them till February as it never entered my head to consider parasite infection to explain the itch - enough bout that fact is I had pinworms for couple of months untreated and they really got time to get hold!!...took vermox twice a day for three days and repeated in two weeks as prescribed... like you had the crawling tingling sensation at night still and did another round of vermox - still it continued so tried pinX...Started getting a crawling feeling all over my body at night and thought I was reacting to the medication....it continued and started happening during the day - I event taut I had pubic lice it was to bad and nits!!! anyway the light at the end of the tunnel - I finally figured it out!!! The medications did work each time - the crawling round my bum that I taut was worms was hatched eggs crawling looking for a host - they look like dandruff on your underwear and clothes....snow white on dark clothes and dark grey to black on light coloured clothes....they start to move in dim light so I was retro infecting myself unwittingly on a day to day basis....started hoovering my bed daily and ordered derbac M which is really for nit eggs but my hair seemed to be the prime source of infestation and really could not be boil washing myself!! research has shown that continuous dry heat at 100 degrees C for a minimum of 30 mminutes kills eggs so I tumble dryed clothes for an extra cycle when dry to create this even ironed them as well and used the derbac m on my hair.......problem solved for the moment but I am still going to take medication once a week for bout a month to get any that may have managed to be ingested........hope this helps
