Q: Pink urethra on penis
asked by: DoctorQuestion on March 29th, 2009
Hi, I am 14 years old

I have been wondering about my problem with my penis for a long time. On the very tip of my penis where urine comes out... there seems to be pink lip type things on each side of the urine whole. So the lips rap around the urine whole. It is hard to explain, but I'm trying my best.
Also the cord that keeps the foreskin from sliding to far down the shaft seems to right up near the head of the penis. About 1 cm from the urine whole.... and i have been stretching my foreskin because i thought my foreskin was tight but found out this.... and i can only stretch to a certain point before it hurts... I don't know what is wrong with my penis.... and i am scared to go to my parents because i am 14 years old and am embarrassed to tell my parents about this.... and to tell the doctor. but if you could help... that would be awesome.
Thanks

According to the data you provided, you might be experiencing frenulum breve.
The cord you detected is the frenulum. Frenulum of prepuce of penis is an elastic band of tissue under the glans penis that connects to the foreskin. When the elastic band is too short it might bend the glans and is called frenulum breve. During intercourse it might be torn and cause painful bleeding. This condition is not so rare as you might think and is easily treated with surgical cut of the frenulum.
You might want to visit a urologist for this minor operation.
