I've been on work comp since dec6, 2011. I was released back to work a few days ago, and I am having horrible knee pain and foot pain. Swelling is back, no pain meds are helping. I was told I might have nerve damage, but havent been checked. I did sever a blood vessel. I get random spasms and cramps from my foot up to by hip and sometimes lower back. What tests should I get done?

tmf61384,

You do not say what your injury was, but in general, the examination dictates what tests are ordered.

After a thorough examination, if the physician is still unsure of the diagnosis, he/she will order any test that can provide more information.

Again, depending upon what information is needed, things that could be ordered include, but are not limited to:

X-rays
CT Scan
MRI
Electrical studies (NCV - nerve conduction velocity, EMG - electromyography)
Bone scan
Lab tests
Chem 20
CBC with diff
ESR
CRP
Anything else that the physician thinks would provide needed information

Hope you discover what is going on. Good luck.
