Q: Pinched suprascapularis nerve symptoms
asked by: DoctorQuestion on September 16th, 2008
Question:

My muscle between neck and shoulder blade is always swollen. There is pinched nerve, Suprascapularis. So I was told from Russian Neurologist, Chiropractor. From all that, especially from the muscle I have pains in the eyes, jaw and face. Also in Sinusitis maxillaries.

Neck MRI has shown that between 5th and 6th neck disc is narrow place. As nobody knows why Levator Scapula is alwas swollen I want to ask you:

What could be the cause for Myalgia Levator Scapula?

Thank you very much for answer,
Bobbie

It doesn't seem likely to me that a pinched Suprascapularis nerve can provoke pains in the eyes, jaw, and face. But such pains could be caused by inflammation of maxillae sinuses (sinusitis maxilaris).

A pinched neck spinal nerve could cause pain in the neck or upper back.

Muscle swelling could be due to inflammation or injury.

You may want to consult an orthopedist or neurosurgeon about your condition.
