During July 2007 i pinched my sciatic nerve. It still bothers me on and off. I am only eighteen years old and I don't understand how I did it and why I can't fix it. My lower back and all the way down my left leg burns and it is a constant, irritating pain. I have been to the doctor several times and they keep perscribing me muscle relaxer that don't help. I want it to stop!

Hello Klongbine,

Sory to hear about the pain you are having.

May I ask how you know that you have a pinched sciatic nerve? Has your doctor had MRIs and x-rays taken?

May I suggest that you search for the very best spinal surgeon who you can find in your area. You need to seek the advice of spinal specialists who will take the time to really analyze and determine what is wrong and how to solve your pain issue.

From my experience with back and radiating leg pain you may have a pinched nerve, however, a medical spinal surgeon is the one to properly diagnosis your pain issue.

I have had a x-rax but not a MRI, however I am scheduled to have one done next week. If this does not help I see a spinal specialist. Thank you so much for your help.

Hello Klongbine,

Thanks for the additional info. Glad you will be having that MRI.

I would highly recommend that you do see the best spinal surgeon that you can find, and do take your x-rays and MRIs with you.

Stay in touch and let us know how things go for you.
