Q: Pinched Nerve?

For over a month now I've had an odd feeling on the outter left of my left thigh.

It's like a dull pain.. more uncomfortable than painful. As if there is a pressure on the spot.

I went to the doctor today and he said it sounds like I have a pinched nerve from my lower back.

I did some research and from what I've read online the majority of people who are experiencing pinched nerves describe their pains as burning or sharp, numb or pins and needles, but mine is not.

Could I be misdiagnosed?

I'd suggest that you request at least an X-ray of the spine before considering this diagnosis. You might also benefit from an MRI of the affected region. I'd suggest that you seek a second opinion, perhaps from an orthopedist or a neurologist.

Thank you for your reply.

I will be having an x-ray done once my menstral cycle begins. I was told to wait in case of possible pregnancy.

BTW, I have PTSD and Anxiety. Not sure if that is a factor or not.

Right --- please update us in a couple of weeks about your menstrual cycle and possible diagnoses. Good luck!
