Q: Pimple on nose treatment

Not making light of any other very serious aliments on here but I have a dermatology question. I had a giant pimple on the end of my nose and after a month and a half it hasn't completely receded and now my nose is asymmetrical on the tip. I saw a dermatologist, he called it a boil, and he gave me ointment that I'm still using, and I saw an Ear Nose and Throat doctor who said that after it healed it left scar tissue and that it might or might not go away. I have a follow up with the dermatologist and he said if the ointment doesn't work he's going to give me antibiotics, which I don't think will work because it's been so long. Unfortunately I think he's just stringing me along to fill his pockets but I'm desperate.

I know it might sound trivial but it's very frustrating and I'm wondering if there is a way to get rid of it entirely.

Thanks in advance.

you could use vitamin e oil to get rid of the scar--or you could use one of the otc scar removers out there.

Thanks for the reply. I know about using vitamin E but the scarring is actually under skin, on the cartelidge, and that's why it's causing a bump.

Thanks.

i have the same problem. i would say that i have had mild acne for about 4 years now, but for some reason my nose has been very prone to acne. its weird because it seems like with most people the nose is not an area of concern at all when it comes to acne. even people i see with severe acne seem to have completely clear noses. anyway, i have had several big, deep pimples on my nose that have left tissue on the cartilage. it has changed the shape of my nose and its bothers me alot, but i remind myself theres more important things in life.

never the less, have you been able to find anything thats helped?
