Q: Pill swallowing tips ?

All my life I've had to rely on chewables and Liquids. I simply CANNOT swallow pills! I take them with water but end up swallowing the water and leaving the pill in my mouth. I usually just end up letting them dissolve in my mouth and I mix a little sugar in to kill the bad taste a bit and swallow that. I thought swallowing birth control pills would be easy since they're so tiny but it's not Sad

Any tips?

I had that problem as well..
Try putting the pill on the very back of your tongue vertically and then drink the water/fluid. Or, just break it in half?

Even when you take big gulps of water the pill is still left?

I put mine on the back of my tongue too. Once you do that quickly take a drink and quickly swallow the water so you can't accidently move the pill. Don't think too much about it when you do it.

Do any kind of mental prepping you need before you put the pill and water in your mouth. Wink

Like the two above said, try putting it in the very back of your tongue then tilt your head back slightly and swallow with a big gulp of water.

If you still have problems, get a pill cutter thing cut them in half and then tuck them in a little bit of bread and swallow like that, it could just be a mental thing.

Just another opinion on putting on the very back of your tongue. Don't think about the pill, just drink the water.

Also, with birth control its important to be sure you get the whole pill in your system so if you still have troubles taking a pill, you should look into femcon fe. It is a chewable birth control pill Smile

I used to have htis problem so I would chew up a saltine cracker, but not swallow it and then stick the pill in it and swalow, you wont even notice it's there Smile

Try burying it in yogurt (especially the kind with chunks of fruit, but make sure you don't chew) or applesauce or something. You'll be able to just swallow the chunks easier without thinking about it.
