Q: PID caused by chlamydia ?

I was diagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease a few months ago. they said it was caused by chlamydia. It was hard to understand how it could have happened. I was in a monogamous relationship and have only ever had one partner. My boyfriend tested negative and i truly trust him. is it possible my pelvic inflammatory disease was caused by something else? Could the test have been wrong?

Did the doctor do a culture to determine the cause of the PID or did he/she just make an educated guess as to the cause of the PID. A culture is the definitive test for knowing what type of bacteria caused the PID. Without a culture it is all guess work. Men can carry an STD and not have any symptoms. Did they swap his penis to test him? If not then he needs to have this done. That is the only way to test a man. A swab is inserted into the urethral opening of the penis. It is not a pleasant experience but necessary to know if he has an STD.

I hope this helped. All the best.
