Q: Phimosis symptoms

Well since I got no reply in the mens conditions forum, I thought I'd post this here and see if I get a response:

I think my boyfriend has phimosis, because he can't pull his foreskin back when his penis is erect. I don't know if it will go back when flaccid. We have normal sex and he doesn't feel any pain, unless he pulls it right back he says it gets painful. I have noticed after sex when he pulls out of me the foreskin has restracted a bit, not fully, and the top looks kind of swollen or kind of like it's being strangled. That's the best way I can put it. He says that doesn't hurt either. If we have normal sex and he doesn't feel any pain, does he need to see someone about it?

I'm not sure exactly, but if its causing problems or pain then thats a reason to get it looked at.

The foreskin can be too tight and still retract from the head when erect. If it is having trouble sliding back when having sex and is red and swollen after pulling out, then phimosis is probably indicated. But there are varying degrees of phimosis.

Find out from him if he has any trouble with the foreskin when flaccid or masturbating and, if he doesn't, then he probably does need to see a urologist. They do have creams that he can apply which will stretch the skin or he may need a circumcision depending on the diagnosis.

That's why a doctor needs to see what course of treatment would be the best. Good luck.
