Q: pharyngitis

Hi i'm told the pain (in my throat and sometimes in my stomach) which has got worse over the last few months is being caused by excess acid (reflux) and yet I don't feel any burning or acid, the specialist called it severe pharyngitis. Has anyone got any good remedies to help? I really don't what to take medication indefinately
