My brother lives in Henderson, Tx. It was sad to have to leave her in the room while we were on the beach. I did not know that our babies could not go on the beach. Ignorance on my part - I guess I should have checked all of that out!

I don't know, I called every Chamber of Commerce in Florida and they told me the same thing about the beach and the motels. My daughter is going to Port Aransas, and found one place on the beach that is pet friendly. Her baby still can't go on the beach, but at least she will have her with her.

My family is from, and I grew up in Fairhope, AL...which is a very small artist community on Mobile Bay which is off the Gulf Coast of Alabama; some people refer to it as the Carmel of the south. Very nice to visit and super cute B&B's! Several of them are pet friendly so if you are interested I'll be happy to give you some websites and numbers!

Thanks for all of the information. I am glad to know Motel 6 accepts our babies. We also have a year old baby, and she has to go with us EVERYWHERE - my 17 1/2 year old likes to stay home now in her own little atmosphere. We never leave her alone for more than a couple of hours or so. I just never knew pets were not allowed on the coast! I went to Palm Springs when my brother lived there, he was sick with HIV/AIDS. I didn't have my babies with me, they were able to stay home with my husband. My brother loved California, but moved to Austin, Texas to be closer to family and he passed in 2001 due to Hepatitis C. He was on a liver transplant list, but became to ill to have the surgery. He had two min-pins (Lucy & Ethel) that he considered his babies! We kept them until they passed! Thanks again for all the information - take care, eeyore46.

I've never been to San Fransico....would love to go! My mother went there in the 70's.....yeah she was a rebel, but then turned into a yuppie in the 80's! My hubby has also been there, but I unfortunately have not made it yet. We are planning on doing one of those Nappa Valley tours, with our friends next year.

I do not know what is going on with the forum today. Hopefully, they will get it corrected soon - until then, just reply as HomerX - so we will know who is responding. My brother, who lives in Henderson, has just been transferred to Houston. He is very excited, has a lot of friends there, plus it is a promotion in his job. It took us 15 hours to get to Florida, and it is only 8 to Port Aransas, and 10 to South Padre. I have just always wanted to see Florida. I was just so upset when they wouldn't except our baby. I was told, from Florida to Corpus Christi, there are no pets allowed on the beach. Although, we have been going to Port Aransas for years, and I always see pets on the beach. I even took a picture by the sign that said NO PETS - while I was holding my baby!!!!
