thank you...my friend Mson
from another thread let me to a website
that had this poem that I shared with them
but I want to share here as well..
Creation
When God had made the earth and sky,
the flowers and the trees,
He then made all the animals
the fish, the birds, and bees
and when at last He'd finished
not one was quite the same.
He said I'll walk this world of mine
and give each one a name.
And so He traveled far and wide
and everywhere He went,
a little creature followed Him
until it's strength was spent.
When all were named upon the Earth
and in the Sky and Sea,
the little creature said, "Dear Lord,
there's no name left for me."
Kindly the Father said to him
"I've left you to the end.
I've turned my own name back to front
and called you DOG, my friend".

Thank You for your kind and comforting
words,my
friends..
Oh homerx..
I am so very sorry for your loss. I pray
you will find comfort in knowing she is
comfortable now and not suffering...
This is a beautiful poem. You are a
wonderful person and I know you will get
through this, though you will never
forget. The emotional attachment we bond
with our animals is the same as with our
children because they are our children.
It's OK to cry, your emotions are going to
be all over the place for a while, when we
loss someone we've loved so much it's
never easy to say good bye.
My thoughts are with you and Rick.
God Bless you..

So sorry to hear of your loss. I know I
will be experiencing this soon. I have a
17 1/2 year old dachshund and I do not
feel like she will be with us much longer.
Do they know what caused it? We also
have a 1 year old daschshund, but one does
not replace the other. Again, so sorry
for your loss.

Homer, what a beautiful poem. I know
exactly how you feel, 4 years ago I lost
my baby Bear, it was the first pet, in my
adult life, to lose and I was absolutely
overcome with heartbreak. I understand
laying in bed with you babes and crying,
it took me a very long time to get over
the loss of Bear and to this day I still
feel an intense pang of despair when
thinking about him. I'm praying for you
and hope that you know that I'm here for
you to talk to.

Well, amidst all of the recent troubles
and tragedies on this forum, I have a wee
bit of good news. Boudreaux's back is
finally getting better! I think we have
found the right combo of meds, an elavil
in the morning (light sedative) and a
Temaril-P in the evenings (steroid). In
the mean time, we are going ahead with the
extensive allergy testing...knowing my
luck it'll say he's allergic to something
like grass...then what do ya do? More
goods news...the allergy testing was
originally going to cost around $1100.00,
he's worth every penny of course, but we
just found out that our pet insurance will
cover 50%! Hopefully we will
find the source of the problem, and
eventually wean him off meds, or only
administer during a flare up! Hubby and I
are keeping our fingers crossed that all
of this will work out and we can get our
baby better!
Thanks, I needed to hear that bit of good
news... Pet Insurance???
Tell me more about that please...

Homer I seriously recommend pet insurance,
especially if you have more than one baby,
which I know you have several. We use
Embrace Pet insurance which is very widely
accepted and so far we have had no
problems, of course Daisy and Boudreaux
have not had major health problems either,
other than Boudeaux's allergies. I will
look up our policy and let you know more
details, but I believe we only pay $20.00
per month for Boudreaux and $30.00 per
month for Daisy (she's older).
I know veterinarian's office will also
have information on pet insurance. I've
seen the pamphlets in the office but I
don't recall the name of the company.

thank you...Boudreaux and Daisy...you must
live in Louisiana...just guessing,I am in
Texas and Boudreaux is very Cajun
sounding...where as Daisy sounds like
maybe Georgia...am I close...I now a lot
of people don't like to say where they
live and thats cool. I live in Texas and
don't care who knows it... Yeah, let me know
about the policy...I appreciate it. sounds
like something I could and should have..

We live on the Gulf Coast near the
Alabama/Florida line, but my husband dose
the majority of his buisness in New
Orleans, so about a year ago we purchased
an apratment in the Foubaurg Marginy
neighborhood, which is only one block over
from the Quarter, and spend about half of
our time there. Boudreaux (rottie mix)is
named after one of my husbands empolyees,
who happened to remind us of him. Daisy
(springer spaniel) got her name just
because she looked so sweet and innocent
with her freckles all over her nose. It
turned out to be a perfect name because
she really sways and shakes her stuff when
she walks, like Daisy Duke! In regards to
the pet in insurance, I pulled out our
policy and its soooooo incredibly long to
type out so it might be easier for you to
go to their website. www.embracepetinsurance.co
m You enter in your dog's info and you
can completely customize your plans to
suit your dogs needs. We opted for the 50%
for office visits, $5000.00 Maximum annual
coverage, $100.00 deductible, ect. Then
you can add on things like preventive,
prescription, dental, ect. Take a look at
it, like I said we have been pretty
impressed so far.

Your very welcome and thank you for all of
the "thanks", I didn't notice that option
until recently! I think in one of your
posts you mentioned visiting New
Orleans...if you ever plan on going back,
hope so because my part-time city needs
the tourism, let me know and I can
reccomend all kinds of neat non-touristy
things to do. I know its fun to do Bourbon
St. and the Quarter, but there's so much
more to N.O. that people forget about.
N.O. is also very dog friendly. Alot of
the cafes, especially in our neighborhood,
let you bring your dogs to the outside
portions of their establishment. Daisy and
Boudreaux have the best time in N.O.
hanging out in the local cafes, sitting on
the terrace and barking at pedestians,
ect.
Far out! Will do. I
lived in Houston for 15 years and went to
N.O. several times a year...home away from
home next to San Fransisco but i am sure
you could guide me to really cool out of
the way places and things to C and
do...thanks again for everything, well be
talking I am sure!!!

Where do you live in Texas? I live in
Texas as well - born and raised. I live
in the Ft.Worth/Dallas area. Would love
to do some traveling, but with our 17 1/2
year old baby we can't. We went to
Florida last year, and we could only find
one motel that was pet friendly. The only
reason they allowed her (Sissy) to stay,
was because a hurricane had been through
Pensicola and most everything was
demolished, not must business. We
originally were going to try and stay at
Destin, Florida, but NO PETS ALLOWED
anywhere!

Hi! I live out side Longview in a tiny
little one red light town called Ore
City....if Destin has a Motel 6 then they
accept pets....my dad was going to move to
Destin but he stayed at Lake Tawakoni
outside Dallas...
