Hi,

I have been having sore throat pain over the last 2 months. Some days the pain seemed to be less intense but over the last 3 days the pain seems to have worsenned. I am 37 years old and have been a smoker for the last 15 years. Obvioulsy I am concerned that I may have throat cancer. I did see a doctor a few weeks ago and she didn't think it was much. Needless to say I was hoping that this pain would have gone away by now so I am getting concerned. She did mention though that the pain could be due to allergies...does anyone suffer from a constant sore throat due to allergies? I am seeing an ENT next week and hope he tells me it's nothing serious. I do plan on quitting smoking very soon as smoking seems to further aggravate my sore throat and we all know that smoking is just overall bad for my health. I just hope that I didn't wait too late to quit!

Thanks
