I am a 45 year old female and I have been suffering from a persistent headache for the past 5 days. I have a history of high blood pressure and was taking medication for it (Fludex) and everything was fine. I went about 4 days without it because I couldn't renew the prescription because my doctor was on vacation.
I was, however, taking different medication for my blood pressure. As soon as I started taking the Fludex again, I started experiencing this severe headache that doesn't waiver and never goes away. I try to sleep it off, it's still there. I take migraine pills, it's still there. I take pain killers, it's still there.
I saw a doctor today and she had no idea what was causing it. She gave me nasal spray, anti-inflammatory pills and Dafalgan pain killers. Guess what? It's still there.
The pain is focused on my eyes and makes them quite heavy. Yesterday, I felt the urge to vomit (but never actually did). I don't feel that urge today and never have before yesterday night. The pain is actually worse at night than it is during the day.
I had an MRI done about 3 months ago and it came out clean. I had blood tests done and everything is fine. I don't have a fever, I don't have a stuffy nose, I don't have any other pain other than the headache.
Please help, I'm a dentist myself and I automatically assume the worst.
