I think I am near menopause. I am 51 and my mother said all the women on her side of the family stopped at 52 like clockwork. Prior to the Big M, she said their periods just became fewer and further apart until they just didn't come anymore. My periods started to change last year - coming every 25 or 26 days instead of 28 - and every once in a while it would be about 35 days (taking a bit longer). However, in the past few months my pattern completely changed, and I wonder if this is the beginning of the end. Now I have my periods every 14 days! It's a real pain to deal with. I wonder how long I should wait before going to have it checked out. I dread taking tests and having examinations, so I only go if I think it is dire. It would be nice to hear from other people experiencing this. I'm curious what a good ObGyn would say about this type of pattern.

14-day period cycle
My mother thinks I shouldn't be bleeding so much and maybe I should get a D&C. I think I'll give it a few more months to see if the pattern changes or not before I consider anything rash! Good luck with yours. I hear it is smooth sailing after it has finally ended.

20 day Menstrual cycle
Does anyone know about non stop bleeding during perimenopause? I am 47 and was already diagnosed as being in preimenopause and in the last year I have been given several biopsy because my periods last for about 20 to 30 days straight. Everything comes back negative. I will skip a month or 2 before my period returns again for about 20 to 30 days straight is this happening to anyone else besides me? It is so frustrating. How long is this supposed to go on?

I am 50 and just had the same thing happen. No period for two months and now am punished by having it for two weeks now! Going to Gynecologist in a couple days, but how annoying to have a period for so long!

Red Clover
Yes, I am going bannanas. How ever I looked at Phytoestrogens...they are in flax seed and Red clover. I tried the BC pills...I do not like. does not seem natural. I thought the flax seed oil pills would work. They did not as well as the Red Clover. I researched an saw the Red Clover has all 4 ingredients of the Phytoestrogens.

Been on them going on 3rd day...period slacking up...I am going to try these natural pills.

When I was on the BC, doctor told me to double up for two days...so I did the same with the red clover. I doubled up for 3 days. I will go back to two pills a day on day 5.

That Red Clover worked like a charm. I pray it regulates me until this monster leaves me.

PS, and they are bickering in the election about women's bodies??? Fooey

I am 38, I have had heavy, short cycle periods for 3 yrs now. I am in Peri-menopause. This past 2 months, however, I have had light - almost non-existent periods, with a light spotting every 30 - 40 days. So... I assume there is a light in this tunnel. hth

Going crazy
I am 47 and have been getting my period every 2 weeks. I am on Bio-identical hormones and just so happen to be on progesterone cream and am awaiting my next visit with my Bio-identical hormone doctor. I am having bad cramping with this and wonder what coulld be going on. But, on the other hand I think that all of this is just due to perimenopause.(at least I hope so)

premenopause
I am glad that I am not the only one struggling with unpredictable periods! I am 45 and I have experienced most of the symptoms shared and I really hope that this is it. My periods would last for over 10 days, with irregular occurence-25 - day to 36-day cycles were very confusing to me. Now I am experiencing 'spotting' or very light periods but I will make sure to do a biopsy after being diagnosed with Adenomyiosis-swelling of the uterine wall.
