on the 5th and 7th of may i had protected sex but the condom broke both times before ejaculation. i was still nervous about pre-cum so i took plan b on the 9th.. (yes, i'm aware that it probably didn't affect the sex on the 5th).. my period was expected to come on may 15th, but because of plan b it came on the 20th... my question is though, that i noticed that the blood didn't really have that distinct mentrual blood smell. i don't mean to gross anyone out--but i think we all know that period blood doesn't exactly smell like roses. the blood was still pretty heavy and lasted for about 6 days (like it usually does for my period). but now i've been feeling feverish and i've been having gas pains and headaches. i took a pregnancy test on the 29th and it was negative. has anyones period ever smelled different? did you end up being pregnant? please help!!

How did it smell? Musty? Like urine or ammonia? Yeasty or bread-like? Fishy?

If you aren't pregnant, you may have some kind of vaginal infection, depending on how it smells. If you have other symptoms, like discharge when you are off your period or itching, you should go to the doctor and get it treated.

it just smelled like regular blood.. musty at the very least. i'm used to having a more fishy-disturbing smell to my period. would an HPT be fairly accurate if taken the last day of this "period"? that is, about 25 DPO?

Effects of Plan B or Implantation Bleeding?
I have the same sort of thing going on. It might be an effect of the plan B. Idk though. I had my period two weeks ago and today i wiped and there was blood, but it smelled different and had a different consistency. It was like ovulation fluid had mixed with a little bit of period blood. I'm going to wait and see what happens before I can guess what's going on, but right now nothing really matches up. The closest thing for me at this point is implantation bleeding, but that's supposed to last for less time than your period.

Sorry, that's all I know.

Plan B's effects
UPDATE TIME!!! Alright. So you said the bleeding you had was the same length and about the same heaviness as your normal period, it just smelled different.

You know how there's a hormone that your body gives off when you're pregnant? Well, what Plan B does is it puts an dose of that horomone into your body, which makes your body think that it's pregnant. And you can't get pregnant if you're already pregnant, so fertilization/implantation doesn't and can't happen (this is if you take Plan B within the time they tell you to).

What this means is, you're not pregnant. The reason your period didn't smell like a normal period is a result of the hormone that is the Plan B pill.

Also, the fact that your period was the normal length and heaviness suggests that pregnancy has not occurred.

strange bleeding smell.
i have the same problems as you but no infection was found when i went to the doctor and had it check out so i was still waiting for the result as if my tummy gets bigger then i am maybe pregnant and still excited lol

concerned
i have had unprotected sex and protected sex, the condom did not break, and my boyfriend claims he pulled out when it was unprotected, but here was not alot of ....ejeculation...at all. and i have been having symptoms...but i dont know if i am just paranoid...considering the fact this wouldnt be the first time i thought i was pregnant and i wasnt. but my period didnt smella as...discusting and i havve not changed anything. could i be pregnant? i just want opinions before i go to the doctor
