hello i posted a topic the other day and found a little information but id like to get some more..my husband and i have been having unprotected sex for the past 2 years.using only the pull out method. we are not ttc but if we do then we will be extremely happy and be loving parents. i have been getting symptoms and more as the days go by..im not thinking about it as much as i was in the begining bc i think at the begining like 2 or 3 wees ago i was thinking about it constantly! and i think thats why i thought i was having early pregnancy symptoms. well i took 2 hpt and even went and got a blood test and all were negative. the nurse said that since it was before my missed period it could read wrong and there's still a possibility that i am pregnant. well the time came for my period to come and it still hasnt. im currently 6 days late and showing no signs of AF coming at all! like i said before we arent trying but if we are pregnant we'd be very happy =) also ive read a lot of people on the internet say that all their tests including blood tests were all negative and they still felt pregnant so they finally got the doctor to set up and ultrasound and sure enough there was a baby in there and ive read that several times and others have said that some test dont read certain people until they're like 3 months. so i was wondering if anyone though i was pregnant or if anyone is going through the same thing. im gonna test again at the end of the month and if i get a negative again im gonna go back to the doctor.

Blood tests are very rarely wrong. Your period is probably delayed for another reason. Definitely go back to your doctor for a repeat test and trust the results.

what couldve caused my period to be late..i didnt have any change in eating habbits or exercise habbits or anything like that and my period is always on time like clockwork! thats why im so confused =( and ive heard many women say they had blood tests and they were wrong but they said that my HCG level couldve been to low where i wasnt supposed to start my period yet. what do you think??

Because your period is now late, a blood test will be accurate. A urine test will be accurate too, but a blood test even more so. Repeat the test and trust the results.

As for reasons why your period could be delayed, that's something you should discuss with your doctor. It could be anything from stress to hormones to something more serious, like a cyst.
