Did the GYN help you understand what took so long?

And yes, welcome back to the club!

I would say the fact that you are breastfeeding is why. Congrats on lasting that long! I know it isn't easy.

Consider yourself lucky! Mine decided to come back when Angelique was 11wks old, even though I was exclusively breastfeeding! At least you know you're not pregnant now Wink

That's great! I got mine back right away after I had Dante as well, even though I'm still breastfeeding.

That must have been great! But it's probably a relief to have it back and know nothing is wrong.

You are so lucky! I wish mine had stayed away for 2 years!!! Instead, after I bled for 12 weeks I had it every month...and I'm exclusively breastfeeding and have the whole time:P

It's actually supposed to work that way in theory anyway, that you don't have your period while breastfeeding. Of course it depends upon how often you breast feed. It's nature's form of birth control or more accurately, of spacing children.

Before anyone pipes in with the fact that breast feeding isn't a reliable form of birth control, that is not what I am saying.

My system was completely screwed up while breastfeeding. We started trying to conceive our second child, which was next to impossible because I wasn't ovulating. I think I had maybe three periods total after my first daughter was born. It was a complete shock when I finally became pregnant again - my cycle was impossibly irregular and very hard to track.

Many women who breastfeed exclusively get their periods almost immediately though. I think it just depends on the woman.
