I agree, heating pads do WONDERS for me. Ibuprofen or Midol or any other medication similar to these help ease the cramps and pains associated with periods.

I also enjoy taking long, warm baths. It really eases the cramps and pains.

Sorry! Didnt know about the all caps thing. But thanks for the advice but I've tried all that and it may work but then the next month it doesnt help at all. I think my cramps are worse than the average. Is there anything else a doctor could prescribe other than birth control cause I've been on it for 3 months and it's not helping and I hate all the side affects of it.

ok, found it, it's called celebrex. It's the same type of medication as ibuprofen, but meant specifically for cramps. If you take it right away, it works really really well.

With any medication, if you anticipate your cramps and start the medication before the cramps start, that will work the best. For example, if you expect your period to start on Monday, and you usually get cramps as soon as you get your period, take a dose of medicine as soon as you wake up on Monday, even if you don't have cramps yet. And keep taking it until you are done with your period, or the time you usually have cramps. Take it every 6 hours or however often you are supposed to.

Some types of birth control might work better than others for you, so you might want to switch to something else if it's not helping at all.

Thanks! I'll talk to my doctor. Did the medication make you drowsy? Most medicines that did work a little allways make me drowsy. I need something that wont cause me to have to take off work or school.

No, because it's basically the same as ibuprofen. I didn't have any side effects, it's not like most pain medication that have sedatives, as far as I know.
