Okay, I don't know if I should be worried about this or whatnot but please help me cure my worries if I am worrying about nothing! Sad

I've been taking the pill for about a year now, I always take it on time and if I am taking it late, it would be about half a hour later. I usually always get my period during Sundays or sometimes Mondays but I still didn't get my period this month. I got my period last month on Sunday if this helps at all.

I've been having unprotected sex quite often and my boyfriend and I did it during the placebo week quite a few times. (He usually ejaculates inside me.) So, my placebo week started on Friday and it's already Tuesday night.. still no sign of my period. I'll be starting on my new pack this Friday, should I be worried? Is it possible that I'm pregnant? Sad

If you used the pills properly (as you claim) chances for unwanted pregnancy are less than 1%. This means that there are still very small chances to be pregnant. The only thing you can do right now is to do a pregnancy test to find out if you are pregnant or not.

Alright, thanks so much for your advice. Should I still be worried if I were to get my period before starting the new pack?

Oh yeah, I was also wondering if it matters when your period arrives during the placebo week.. I am currently taking Ortho 0.5/35 if that matters or whatnot.

Hi
I am not nor do I claim to be a mdeical professional. This queston would be best answered by CarrieFairie, she is very wise in this department. I"ll see if I can locate her and send her your question. You said you'd been on the pill for a year. There is ALWAYS that 1% chance you could be pregnant. If this were to be the case, I would NOT start a new pack of pills just yet. I think I would refrain from SEX until either your period came, or you take pregnancy test to ensure you are NOT pregnant. If I were to think for one minute I were pregnant, I would stop taking the pill, until I found out for sure I was NOT pregnant. Hope this helps.....I also hope you get your period! Maybe you should consider condoms as well. I'd do everything possible to PREVENT from getting pregnant if I did not want to become pregnant. Everytime you have sex....you take that one chance of getting pregnant.

Some women will occasionally miss a period while taking the pill.

This is not bad, and it is not dangerous.

IF you do not get your period, you should still START YOUR NEXT PACKAGE ON TIME.

Most likely this is simply a hormonal fluke Smile

I still didn't get my period yet. Sad I did take a pregnancy test at home though. I used the First Response - Early Result Pregnancy Test. It turned out to be negative but should I still be worried about the placebo week? Considering I did have sex during that time and I don't think the test can detect it since it was quite recent.. I am so worried. Crying
or Very sad

You are FULLY, 100% PROTECTED on the placebo week!

KEEP TAKING YOUR PILLS AS USUAL...

You will most likely get a period on your next period week.

BOTH YAZ and Loestrin bring women shorter and lighter periods, BUT some women skip periods completely.

AGAIN, it is not dangerous or bad to miss a period on the pill, as long as your pregnancy test shows up negative.

Because your pregnancy test appeared negative you are probably not pregnant and you may continue taking the pills as schedule.
Events like shorter period, prolonged period, missing period, spotting can normally happen while using any type of birth control pills.
