I have been on Nuvaring for approx. 4 months. No issues, no problems. I was on oral contraceptives prior to that. I am 41 years old.
Periods came and went normally until this month. I got my period a whole week early! I am scheduled to take out the ring this Sunday and then I would usually get my period the Wednesday after that but I started bleeding and clotting like a normal period this Tuesday and it continues? What should I do and why would this happen? I check daily, the ring is still inserted. I plan on taking out the ring when I am supposed to which is this Sunday but I don't know how that is going to affect me getting my period on Wednesday when I usualy do since it has already started a week earlier. Why would this happen and is there any reason for concern?
No possiblity of being pregnant- no sexual activity at this time.
