Morning after pill if taken within 72 hours of intercoutrse is quite effective in pregnancy prevention.It can delay the period by 10 to 15 days.If the periods have not started yet consider getting a blood test to determine pregnancy as failure rates have been reported with its use.

Hi. I was ovulating on 6/15 and had unprotected sex. I took morning after pill on 6/16 and that week i had bleeding. my period usually comes on the 7th and has not. I have felt a little funny lately. Normal? Possibly Pregnant?

Did you have spotting after taking the pill? I took it about 35 days ago but never spotted just had cramping the past 2 weeks. Did take a test and it was negative.

Hiya Mimi, No I had no spotting at all, just lots of cramps and nausia! I had about 5 days where the cramping stopped then it started back up again!!

My periods are regular as anything usually, I tried to work out when my next period would have been "pretending" that I hadn't skipped one, and I was two days wrong (later than what I thought) So hopefully you have only skipped one period!! But when I went to the Dr she said that sometimes women can skip up to three!!!

I ended up having four negative test results, but it was the constant cramps that were getting me down and the lack of finding anything online with ladies who have had similar issues without spotting. I really hope your period comes soon, keep me posted!

Thanks! I hope it comes soon. For the past 2 weeks I have felt like its going to come at any second. But everything I have found online says that people spotted shortly after taking the pill and I didn't glad to hear you didn't and there is hope. I really don't want to be pregnant right now!

Oh yeah I hear ya!!! Bloody nightmare isn't it? I am also glad to hear that I am not the only one out there who didn't have spotting!!

Do you keep track of your periods? Might be worth trying to work it out, if you know roughly how many days you took the MAP before your period was due, then from your due date count how long your cycle usually is, and hopefully the date that comes up will be when you will next have your period give ir take a day or two, this is how I done it and I wasn't far wrong!! Most women are between 25 - 28 days! Hopefully fingers crossed its just around the corner!!!

Another question for you. You said that your period was 28 days late. Do you know about how many days after you took the pill your period showed up? I'm going to take another test later today but it's been 38 days since I took the plan b. My period ended about a week before I took the pill.

Hiya, in total it was 47 days from the time I took it till my period came! My last period was on 30th Sep, took it on the 6th Oct my period was due on the 25th which obviously did'nt arrive. I worked out my next one "should" roughly be 20th Nov and it turned up on the 22nd!!

Have you gone to see the Dr or to a family planning clinic? Might be worth making an app I know I felt better after talking to someone.

The worry is bloody awful, but at least you know you are not alone and that this is not unheard of!! I know all I wanted was to hear of the same thing happening to others which I did'nt! I am almost possitive you will be OK

Hi guys I had protected sex but the condom ended up ripping. I took plan b the next day. Which was June 20th I usually get my period around the 28th but I didn't. I've had no spotting at all & now it's been about a mOnth since I took plan b and nothing yet I'm a little worried..

I also had unprotected sex with my boyfriend took the contraceptive (lavenostrogen)n now ma period is one week late am sooo worried haven't gone for a test

Well I think I'm fine just will have to wait it out. I took another test and it too was negative. I have 2 children and with each of them I got a positive test right away so pretty sure that the pill just messed up my schedule. Now it's just a waiting game. I have my yearly appointment in about 2 weeks so I'll ask her then.

I got my period finally yesterday! 56 days after taking the plan b.

took the pill with 48 hr of broken condom,it was just when l was ovulation and l had to take the pill incase.l have experienced my pre menstual symptoms,but no menstrual yet. am worried sick.my cycle is usually accurate, 25-26 days ,its 28 days today,nothing yet. l keep checking, am worried am pregnanat its a nightmare. 3 days ago l thought l saw a little spot, very tiny really,tiny bloot spot, now l cant sleep, am so stressed.lhavent done a test. any home testing idea. as l read others experience am worried mine could be diferent evryone is so diferent

I can totally understand the worry you are feeling I only hope that what happened to myself and mimi can put you're mind at ease a little. Keep us updated on how you are getting on, as I found it so hard to find any information online, and there must be other women out there with the same thing happening. I am sure you will be OK

so glade 2no its not just me I took the morning after pill within 24hrs had all the symptoms. I had no period wen due which was 2weeks after takign the pill then 2days later had spotting for 2 days and nothing its been 3days and getting worried im very bloated but test come back negative do u think the pills just messed up my period as im usually very heavy?

If you had spotting I would say that was a good sign... how did you get on?

Reading this gives me relieve, 56 days... That's nuts! I'm in china, the plan B pill here is effective but not quite the same, it's one simple pill packed with hormones, not a fun journey after taking one. However in my experience I have taken it before - sadly more than once, and sure enough my period was a bit late but didn't make me panic like I am now. Only about 2 days after my menstrual cycle I had an accident, and just to be safe I took the morning after pill the following day. 2 days later my period started again!! So jan 30 til the 3rd of feb I was on my period, then feb 7th it started up again... And it was heavy and never ending it seemed. Probably fully emded on the 12th (usually my periods last up to only 3 days). Now it's march 19th and I'm late by at least a week. I'm stressed because I'm reading online that people that have unprotected sex around their menstrual cycle ( for me just 2 days after) they are more likely to get pregnant, the statistic was if 100 women were to take the plan B after having unprotected sex during their menstruel cycle, about 3 would get pregnant. I have a constant Murphy's law following me...meaning, I'm good at catching the bad luck! I'm just hoping it comes ASAP. I've been pregnant before, just a nightmare and I don't want to go through it ever again... Not until I am absolutely ready. especially in a foreign country it is far more scary.

well i have bad news for some people who are seeking relief from this topic - i just took a pregnancy test and it came out positive. i had my period on jan 30th and it ended on feb 2nd, i had unprotected sex on the 3rd, took a Plan B pill the following morning on the 4th, started bleeding on the 5th for a couple days - was like my period started all over again... and now its March 20th and I'm finding out I'm pregnant. most likely from that incident because intercourse after that event has been protected. i am in China and using Chinese Plan B pills - however youd think with such a massively populated country that their Plan B would even be more effective than in the states? so i cant blame it on the pill being ineffective because its sketchy. something went wrong for sure. my breasts have been sore and swollen, ive been late for my period for 2 weeks now, emotional as hell... ive been pregnant before and did not have any symptoms for 3 MONTHS, so my body is a bit wacky in this way. however at least by informing you guys that even after taking the morning-after pill, if you start to get panicky and show symptoms of pregnancy, take your tests just to be sure!! i kept trying to refer to the internet to comfort me in to thinking that my period would come any day now. i was wrong but, good luck to you other girls!!

Oh bless ya heart, that totally sucks and I really do feel for you. I ended up having to take the morning after pill a few weeks ago again due to the condom splitting, and I was pooing my pants, thankfully I didn't have these issues again.

But it gave me the slap around the face to go on the pill (I never wanted to due to reproduction issues.... how ironic huh)

I wish you all the luck in the world in making you're choices, it has got to be hard. What ever you choose to do it may be wise to go on the pill after, you seem to be super fertile and at least it would prevent (or at least reduce) this from happening again. xx

Hi Ladies! My cycle is 15 days late! I have 23/24 day cycles. My last cycle was 2/11. I failed to calculate my ovulation cycle as I usually do. My ovulation days were 2/19-2/23, in which we were "uncovered" on 2/18, 2/19, and 2/20. On 2/20, I took Plan B. I was due to have my next cycle on 3/6. The only feeling I had was a little mood decline and some breast tenderness within three days of taking the Plan B. I have not had a sign of a period. I took a test on 3/3, 3/6, 3/7, and 3/12 and all were negative. I stared at each test for about three minutes after the result to ensure no last minute changes in the reading. I am going to pick up a test tomorrow as well. I figured that I would know something by now, considering it happened during ovulation. I anticipate it coming at the end of this month. Hopefully, the Plan B just jacked up my cycle and caused a missed period. We shall see.......I am waiting patiently for a concrete result....seeing my period with continuous negative HCG results. He is waiting impatiently.....in hopes for a little girl.......smh.....

hey guys, so i had sex about 2 days after my period, it was protected but i was concerned that the condom didn't fit right, so the next day i took plan b. I got heavy bleeding about a week after and some other crazy symptoms. They calmed down for a little while but I was due for my period about week and a few days ago. I had symptoms like I was experiencing my period which lead me to think I was getting it for sure but no bleeding. I've taken about 4 HPT and they were all negative. I know that people can be up to a month late but after reading about that one girl from china's story I can't help but completely FREAK OUT!

You had sex two days after your period. You were not ovulating at that point so don't worry. And the Plan B just jacked up your cycle. Just wait it out and continue using protection.

I am here to offer advice and help relax anyone who feels/felt the way I did.

As I said in my first post above, I got bc the week that I posted.

I was having a reaction to the tons of hormones in plan b. I talked with the nurse at Planned Parenthood and she said this was all that it was. I took the pregnancy tests after "missing" my period (a period that lasted long enough to fill one mini pad and that's it) and the nurse said that if a pregnancy test comes out negative after a missed period, you are 99% not pregnant.

I had to do this appointment with no health insurance (i live at home as a college student under the parents health insurance) due to my parents "not believing" in birth control. I was able to get the appointment and 1 pack of BC for $50. and a pack costs $12. Ladies! take advantage of Planned Parenthood and get some BC to stay protected! Quit being scared and giving your self too many hormones through plan B.

Ladies, take control of your womanly health! Planned Parenthood offers BC and COMPLETE privacy if necessary. (they will not call me or send me anything in the mail. this works if ur 18 or older.)
