period after 1 week on pill Posted: 03-02-08 15:59pm
I got my period 1 week after the end of my
last period. I have been under alot of
stress the last few weeks. I have been on
the pill for 18 years. I'm on Tri-Cyclen
21. What I would like to know is will I
not get a period now for this month? And
should I just start a new pack right after
the old one is done? I just kept taking
the pills even though I was bleeding for 7
days (much longer then my usual period of
3 days!) Please I need an answer ASAP I
have to start the new pack tonight if that
is what I should do. Thank you!!!

NO, you should not start a new package of
pills just because you have bleeding or
spotting.
You SHOULD start a NEW pack of pills when
you are SUPPOSED to...When you finish your
pack you start a new one..
You should never extend your period pills,
even if your period lasts longer. You risk
pregnancy by doing that.
Bleeding and spotting happen to almost all
women on birth control, and it is going to
happen every once in awhile.
