I have recently been told by my GP that I have gone through the menopause having not had a period for 2 yrs and was told if I had any bleeding at all to go right back to have it investigated, so I would go back and see your Doctor just to be on the safe side

I had spinal fusion surgery 11 weeks ago and had a light period last week. This is after over 2 years after my last period (I am 54). Could the anaesthetic have affected my hormones? I have been having regular hot flushes and sweating on my back since surgery.

Hi, age 45 and havnt had a period in over 2 years now up till this past week while vacationing. Called my dr right away and he advised me to go to the nearest hospital for an examination. All came out fine but im still confused as to why i would menstruate after all this time. With it i also experianced dizziness, nasua and discomfort. Anxious to know how common this is.

POST MENOPAUSAL ESTROGEN SURGE?
I had and am having the same. Doc told me it's an estrogen surge. This is my second one , Was post meno 2 years ago and took my first surge at 14 months , slight spotting then full bleeding one day then nothing next. Usual PMS symptoms...breast tenderness, cramps mood swings. This time it's been building up...breast tenderness for 8 weeks...cramping . Maybe last surge? This time it's been 13 months since last surge. Not happy, but no PMS SYMPTOMS TODAY...YAY.

period two years after menopause
Ok ladies, I'm 56. haven't had a period in over 2 years and this week it came back. Went to the doctor's and they ran blood work - everything normal. Period is actually normal, not flooding like before it went away. So, I'm treating it as normal unless it lasts more than 7 days. Then I'll call the doctor again.
