So I missed three pills in a row and started a period on day 3. I talked to the nurse at my doctors office and was told to take two pills and throw out two and then to just finish the rest as normal. I have abou a week left of my pills and am trying to figure out if I will get a period again when I finish the pack? I did have unprotected sex with my husband on one of the days I missed my pills and I was on an antibiotic (the reason I think I missed them.. thought I was taking them got thrown off with all the pill taking). Since I sarted my period after missing three does that mean I am in the clear of pregnancy? We also had unprotected sex again earlier this week so I am just trying to figure out my odds of being pregnant and what all is going on. I would be shocked if pregnant (i have a four month old) but it wouldnt' be the end of the world seeing I am married and already have kids! Anyone ever have something similar happen adn what was the outcome?

I am having the same problem but I'm not married an have a 4mth old so I can't afford to have another child right now. I just realized this morning that I hadn't been taking my pills but my boyfriend and I haven't had sex all week; so this is a good thing. I've been looking up what I should online and it seems that I should take todays and tomorrows pill and then throw the pack away and start a new pack on Sunday. I came on my period today so I'm really confused on what I should do. I think I'm going to just call my OBGYN and see what the nurse suggests.

It would be a good idea to skip your pill-free interval (as this extended break may cause you to ovulate since you've already missed pills) and immediately begin your next pack once you are finished with your active pills from your current pack. Then, wait at least 7 days since you missed your pills to have sex without another form of contraception. By doing this, you will have at least 7 days of hormones in your system since you missed some pills. This will cause hormone levels to rise high enough to prevent you from ovulating.
The more pills you miss, and the more days you go without an active flow of hormones, the more likely it is you may ovulate and possibly conceive.
Best of luck!
