period after d&c ?

I have been trying to concieve for 2 years. I am ovulating and I already have one child. I recently started having irregular bleeding so the doctor did a d and c. I also had a laparoscopy to see if I had any endometriosis. I stopped bleeding from the d & c the day after. Then a week later I started bleeding again. I went to the Dr. on Thursday and told him I thought it was my period. He agreed. Is it normal to have a period only a week after the d and c?
