Hey..
Here is my situation, I went off the pill in July of 2010. I got that period for that pill packet. Then I did not get a period until Feb 2011. I was for about 14 days.. some days heavy.. most days light.

So I am assuming that since I am 47.. that while I was on the pill I started Menopause as i have the night sweats and all the other good side affects.

So I went to my doctor and I just wanted to see if I was in menopause or perimenopause. All of a sudden he wants to do a biopsy.. becuase I have not had a period in 6 months. But what does he have to base this on.. as "irregular" periods, since if I am in perimenopause I would be irregular anyway? can any help me out here as to their expierences here?
Thanks,
kamelion

Hi and welcome..Firstly try not too worry which i know is easier said than done..Irregular or not it need investigating..I was diagnosed menopause and then sfter nothing for nearly a year i took two periods one january and one february..It scared the daylights out of me as like anyone else i thought the worse scenario.
I ha a hysteriscopy done (a bit like a smear )where they took a biopsy from the womb..I felt a slight nip and that was all ..My fuss was for nothing so please be assured you will okay having this done.
Turns out all was well and some women like me its hormonal as menopause takes many stages before disappearing. I had another bleed last month after again a full years break.
Have the test an get peace of mind honey they have reasons for doing them and not all bad...
Hope this helps you.
