Hi, am new to this, and very worried.
First, to help dismiss certain things, I am not sexually active and have not been for about 25 years now, so any problems are not sexually transmitted. I am post menopausal, age 57, and have had four pregnancies, one of them being ectopic, the other three normal live births. My abdominal pain also cannot be from an appendicitis, as I have had mine removed as a child, and I am missing both my right ovary and right tube due to the ectopic pregnancy.
About 2 to 3 weeks ago I had a stent removed, it had been put in for the laser treatment of a kidney stone, although it was from my left kidney, not the right (where I am having pain). Once the stent was removed I did have severe pain for a couple days, but it passed and things went back to normal.
Less than a week ago I noticed symptoms I assumed were from a yeast infection, I bought an otc yeast infection cream and used it both externally and internally for one night, then made an appointment with my doctor the next day. He examined me quickly and said he believed it was a fungal issue, giving me ketoconazole cream and hydrocortizone cream to apply to the area. This has not helped, and a few nights ago I was struck by sometimes severe pain in my lower right abdomen. Today, because of the irritation and pain I feel that worsens when I walk, I examined my genital area, and saw that there are painful red bumps on my perenium.
Now I am completely unsure as to what is wrong and what I have. I am not receiving relief from the fungal creams and I am also particularly worried about the lower right quadrant pain, as it at times can be severe. Is this possibly related to the stent, or the removed kidney stone (though it was the opposite side)? Are the perenial symptoms related to the abdominal pain or are these separate issues? I am quite concerned and any help anyone can give me would be so appreciated! Thanks so much!
