Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum

The symptoms posted by you (outer membrane of my penis is inflexible at end as such penis cap remains inside outer membrane after full erection) point towards a tight foreskin or phimosis. Yes, if not treated it can cause problems during intercourse as it will be painful and the skin will crack.

Tight foreskin or phimosis can be treated both medically and surgically. Medically it can be corrected by applying steroid creams and manual stretching. This is possible if the phimosis is of more recent onset and caused by infections and adhesions.

If you had a tight foreskin right from the beginning or if it cannot be corrected medically then circumcision and preputioplasty are the two operational procedures to correct it with good results.

However it is difficult to comment beyond this without examination. Please discuss these possibilities with your urologist. Hope this helps. Take care!
