The skin on the shaft of my penis is very
insensitive compared to the rest of my
skin. For example, when I brush my arm
with a finger tip I can very clearly feel
it on my arm. However, when I do the same
to my penis shaft I barely feel it on my
penis. I can achieve orgasm when I
masturbate without much trouble but I have
to squeeze kind of hard. It has been this
way for as long as I can remember but
lately I am worried that I will have
trouble with sexual stimulation. Is this
normal? Is it the same way for other men?
It%u2019s worth noting that the head is
very sensitive to this stimulation.
Shouldn't the skin on my penis be as
sensitive to touch as my scrotum?

The shaft, typically, is not the most
sensitive part of the penis because it is
covered in foreskin. Even in circumcised
men, the glans is a lot more sensitive and
is normally the key to arousal. The shaft
should not be sensitive because it has
evolved to incorporate the penetration of
sexual intercourse. Theoretically, a very
sensitive shaft would probably be very
painful during sex.
