Q: Penile discharge and urethritis
asked by: DoctorQuestion on July 31st, 2008
I have noticed(About 3 days ago this started) a leaking fluid out of my penis when not aroused. Doing anything it seems to leak whenever. I get a semi itch feeling at the top of my shaft. I also noticed that sometimes when I pee that it will sometimes burn. I was wondering what this might be and if I should contact my doctor ASAP or what should I do or should i not be worried... Thanks a lot for reviewing this, I'm pretty worried.

A penile discharge without being aroused and burning sensations while urinating could indicate inflammation of the urethra (urethritis). Prostate inflammation (prostatitis) is also possible.

You can request a microbiological examination of the urine, penile leakage, and sperm to check if there is a uro-genital infection causing those symptoms.

You may want to consult your family doctor and then a urologist, if necessary.
