I was told I had poly- cystic ovarian syndrome 5 years ago and have had a on again off again relationship with birth control pills. I have always had irregular periods, but thank god no cramps.
I have been doing really well with my current pill until this current period I am now on day 26 of it and it has been non stop heavy bleeding! This is my heaviest period so far I am going to the restroom to clean up leaks multiple times per hour and have set alarms at night to avoid bed accidents. I know this is not normal and I will see my obgyn in a month. But my question is what can I do now to slow this FLOOD of blood? This period has also given me a new challenge of clots about the size of golf ball and bigger. I normally don't clot much. I have now gone into survival mode I wear 2 forms of period control at all times pad and tampon or "smart cup". I make sure I have access to a restroom at all times I will not go to the movies, or wear a dress and I avoid wearing light colored pants when possible. I am at a loss the pill seems to be ineffective on this super period. Any advice or will I just have to muddle through till I see my doctor.
Also there is a 0% chance it is a misscarrige ( all online research kept ending in that answer) I am not sexually active.

By the way this is not the longest period I have had either the period that got me to my doctor back in 2007 was 48 days of non stop bleeding but that was only 1/3 of the amount of blood per day. If I had to guess I would say I have about 3-4 oz of blood per hour. And yes I am constantly tired and dehydrated. Despite tons of sleep and water.
