I haven't had a periods for 3 possibly 4 months now. I get really dizzy and bad headaches with lots of really strong sneezing during the day although I don't feel like i have a cold. I have taken four pregnancy test and all have come out negative and I have put on a lot of weight about 1 stone over 1 year. I am 22 yrs old and used to have very infrequent periods but settled down a little, very bad cramps when ovulating. I have had a blood test for PCOS which my doc didn't tell me she was testing for, she didn't really tell me the results of the blood test either. I am waiting on an appointment for a scan of my ovaries but to be honest I have no idea what to think. I am scared stiff of being pregnant and would prefer to have PCOS lol! if anyone has any ideas please let me know please because it's driving me crazy!

P.s. I could possibly also have a stomach ulcer and on new years day was taken into A&E with really bad stomach pains, I was prescribed oramorph (morphine based oral pain killer) which doctors believe made me severely constipated:-S I hadn't been for 11 days and had it manually remove by a hydro therapist. I also have small dents in my ring finger on my left hand, my index and pinkie on my right hand. a few days ago I also had really bad pain where my left lung/spleen is and it moved to my chest now and again. I couldn't lie on that side at all because it hurt quite a bit.

this question was posted several months ago but I will answer it anyways.
I am 22 and I have just been diagnosed with PCOS because of my irregular periods. I went 4 months without a period and then bled for a month. Took me forever to find a doctor that takes my insurance.
They did lots of blood work and chalked it up to a mild case PCOS but I have 2 strands of pearls that wrap all the way around both of my ovaries. That is why I could not get pregnant for 2 yrs!
Infertility really got me upset but they told me that with a healthy diet, plenty of excersise and significant weight loss will reverse it.
I was put on a pill to take for 1 day to stop the bleeding and today I started a low dose birth control to regulate my periods to a normal state.
I believe everything will be ok over time.

I had the ultra sound scan to see what the problem was they couldn't see anything wrong with my right ovary but they couldn't find the left one which is supposed to be normal as my bladder might have been blocking it so we still don't know if there is anything wrong with it. I was also put on the pill and things were ok unitl I started getting sharp pains in what felt like my womb so I stopped taking them a while ago. My periods are now irregular as ever and when it finally does feel like it wants to show up that month it can last from 4 days to 1 week with varying heaviness. I guess I've just got to live with it, my partner and I wont be trying for a baby any time soon so I guess until we do we wont know how infertile I am. Perhaps that will help me diagnose myself!! lol thanks for taking the time to reply ^_^

aww im soo sorry to hear that.
Did you try getting a blood test done? They can actually test your blood to see if traces of PCOS show up in it. Thats one way they found out I had it.
I learned it was genetic as well! Ancestors from my family that have had a history of heart problems or diabetis is what caused my blood stream to carry pcos.
Try a blood test, that should put some ease on your mind.

Ummm they tested me for hormonal imbalances and it came back that there were some minor irregularities so they just put it down to the irregular period. We have a history of diabetes, cholesterol and heart conditions in my family, I hope they find some sort of rare condition...that would be awesome ^_^. Perhaps I should go back to get them to double check, there must be some reason my innards are behaving like chocolate deprived teenagers!

well there you go then. You have a slight bit of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom
I don't ahve all the symptoms full fledge I just have the cycts and irregular periods.
I don't mean to make you or your family feel bad but are there heavy set people related to you? Or are you yourself considered over weight? And do you have facial hair that shouldnt be there?
(I will not lie, I am fat and I have a small bit of a mustache and so does my mother and my sister)
That is all causes from pcos. I urged my sister to get checked ASAP for it because it is in fact genetic
