Q: PCOS and prenatal pills

I currently have PCOS. I have not had a regular period for a couple years. I have recently been taking prenatal pills because my anemia seems to be getting worse and I need the iron. I am also in the middle of a period after only having been taking the pills for a week. Could this be the cause of the period? If so, this is a great day for me as I have been wanting to get pregnant but have not had any luck inducing a period cycle.

So you think that the prenatal pills which contain iron may have caused your period? Are you taking any other medication at the moment to try to manage the PCOS?

No. It is unlikely that vitamin pills have caused your period.

Good luck TTC.
