Q: PBC Liver Disease - insurance

Hi Everyone,
my mom has a liver disease common in women. She was laid off from her job and now her insurance has lapsed. She can't keep up with the costs of all the medications and doctor visits and I'm afraid she'll die without it. Crying or Very sad

Does anyone know of any programs that help with health insurance or prescriptions. All information will be helpful. Thanks....

I suspect that each state has some kind of health insurance for people out of work etc. In Massachusetts it's called Mass Health and they now have Commonwealth Care which charges you based on your income or covers you if you have none. But you have to apply for it.
