I have had 3 yeast infection in 3 months. My usual sex partner and I don't use condoms usually.the last two times we had sex I got systems right away, with in hour or so of intercourse. My Dr. has prescribed Fluconazole each time.we have been using personal lubes w/ glycerin in them and they are over a years old opened.read on net they my cause yeast infections.
So my questions are A.could it be the old lube?B.could my partner be passing it back to me?.C.Could it be an STD?and D.If so would Fluconazole knock it out of my system?

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
The cause for repeated infections could be the lube, your partner re-infecting you or the STD. A careful examination along with culture test would help in identifying the infection and treat it effectively. Avoid using lubes and also get your partner also treated simultaneously and avoid having intercourse while being in treatment course to prevent chances of re-infection.
Discuss with your gynecologist about your partner also getting treated simultaneously.
Oral medications along with topical application of creams help.
Take care.
