Q: passing out after meals

I recently started passing out after eating meals. By passing out I mean involuntarily falling asleep for 30-60 minutes, almost every time I eat anything that contains protein or fat.

This is really freaking me out. I'm 22 years old and I don't know what's going on. I recently had an episode of horrible abdominal pain, but It felt like allergies I had a few years ago. I threw up and diariahed for like 10 hours until it was over. I'm not sure if this is related.

I normally eat a high fat ketogenic diet and recently lost a lot of weight?

Should I seek emergency medical attention? Is this serious? Am I going to die? Something doesn't seem right. Is this a gallbladder problem or a liver problem?

It sounds as if you are experiencing narcolepsy. Narcolepsy is a disorder that causes periods of extreme daytime sleepiness. It also may cause muscle weakness. People who have this disorder fall asleep suddenly, even if they're in the middle of talking, eating, or another activity. Most people who have narcolepsy also have trouble sleeping at night. Narcolepsy has no cure, but medicines, lifestyle changes, and other therapies can improve symptoms.
