Q: Partial Hysterectomy

I had a vaginal hysterectomy, I still have my ovaries, and tubes. Is there any operation out there to have another child. Doctors do transplants on all kinds of organs, why not a uterus? I was experiencing heavy blood flow and weight loss and my Doctor recommended it. I now regret it terribly, I have only one son, and would desperately love to have another baby.
Sincerely Desperate in Pa

Hello Desperate in PA! I am so sorry for what you are going through! I know exactly how you feel! I have one child also, and had to have a hysterectomy at the age of 21 the day after she was born due to placenta accreta. It was devastating since we wanted at least one more child! I have heard that maybe there have been some experiments with uterine transplants, but have no clue how successful they have been. I have wondered about it myself, but never checked into it. I wish you the very best! God bless!
