i am 21 in utah and want to get a partial hysterectomy. i was wondering if i would still get a period with that. according to utah laws i need to be at lest 26 with a minimum of 2 kids in order to have a voluntary hysterectomy. i was also wondering if anybody knew how to get around this. any help would be great!! thanks.

Check with your doctor...Back years ago when Vasectomies were not allowed, my husband had to get the approval of my OB-GYN to say that I could not have any more babies as my blood pressure went sky high during the last pregnancy...No, you shouldn't get a period if your Uterus is taken out....Just be sure that you do not want children along the path in life...Think it over wisely...However, if this is medical, then it is another story...

Take care,
Caroline

Good luck,

I find that really funny! I want a partial Hysterectomy, I'm 26, and I have two kids! LOL! I live in Id though so I don't know what the laws are. I have an awesome doc who is going to help me out there tho.
Anyway, If you get the Uterus out, but leave in the ovaries and cervix (like I want to do) then after you've healed from the surgery all bleeding should stop. Leaving in those three things tho will help your hormones stay at an acceptable lvl and (usually) let you enjoy a pill free life Smile
