l myself have had a partial hysterectomy and l never was told anything about it and l basically had to keep asking different Drs. and looking it up until l found out, but a partial hysterectomy is almost the same as having a uterus there, except you no longer get periods anymore and you still go through the moods, like you did, but nothing compared to the moods we used to have when we had pmsing, just no more periods, and you might still get cramps for awhile like phantom pain.
You cannot carry a child fullterm as there is not full (room) uterus for the baby to growth and thrive and there is no way for the sperm to reach the egg because they sewed up the cervix when they did the hysterectomy to make sure that you could not get pregnant by accident because it could kill you and the baby. (Sort of like having an ectopic pregnancy) but in this case, they would not be sure where the egg would go if it was fertilized.
l read a story last year, how a woman was pregnant and carried a baby full term as it attached itselt to her stomach (which could have killed her) but she was bed ridden for the whole pregnancy and that is just one in a million story you hear.
l lost my daughter during delivery due to the Dr's mistake of pressing down on the Uterus and it ruptered and the baby went up under my lungs and suffocated her as the placenta ripped away from the Uterus, so by the time they delivered her, it was 2 hours later, she was born brain dead and the Dr did a partial hysterectomy on me to try to hide his mistake,, and that was 14 yrs. ago and like you, l wanted so much to try and have more children and l was thinking of ways, my sister even offered and then changed her mind, which l thought was so cruel, but after a few years l gave up hope of having another baby and finally , l think l am at the point of being at peace that l now look forward to having grandchildren.
My heart goes out to you, because , someone should be explaining what happens and answering any questions you might have, such as this one and l was a Nurse, but for someone who may not understand medical procedures, that is very hard to accept when you don't understand what is happening. Just keep asking and eventually the Dr. will answer. Good Luck, Michelle
