Q: parotid and submandibular glands

i had a ct of neck yesterday. results are as follows: parotid and submandibular glands appear largely fatty replaced and are symmetrical in apperance. no mass or adenopathy is identified. can someone help me understand this. what is the cause of the fattty infiltration? and what are the treatments?
