My son, 30 was diagnosed by a senior consultant psychiatrist as suffering form paranoid Schizophrenia. The information I gathered about this condition is that it is not curable only treatable. My son has been receiving treatment for about two years. The same consultant is now saying that whatever it was it is over and that my son is 100% and completely cured. My son is a civil engineer and has a job and he is doing his job very well. Apparently there is nothing wrong with him but then why was it said at the first place that his condition is not curable?

Yeah, after my first whatchamacallit, I was on medication for awhile, and then I stopped taking it, I went for a good year and a half without, did not have any symptoms, it can happen, its the weirdest thing on the planet really, it can just go away.

It's almost like it isn't a brain disorder at all.

It is so awful that no one knows whats happening to us.
I should rephrase that, some know exactly what is happening to us don't they.
I hate it when people don't know.

It is glad that your son is doing well. Schizophrenia is treatable, which means when patient received treatment it can become better. Unfortunately, not all cases have the same outcome as your son did. Most of the mild to severe schizophrenia patient experience relapse after few months or few years later. Many of them experienced discrimination during or after that. Therefore, family member should keep an eye to them, care more about them. Family supports are important in helping schizophrenia patient.

I understand that the word “incurable” make people worry and feel uncertain. Try to think positive and don’t push yourself too hard. With you love and concern, your son can get rid to it.
