Ok so last night I had anal sex with a guy and he did not use a condom. Right now I cant not stop freaking out over this and scared I will get STD. The guy said he is clean and got tested "not too long ago". But I still don't really trust him.

So I plan on getting tested ASAP cuz I NEED to know. Most scared for HIV because I'm only 18 and I need to living for another 25 years is not enough.

I know this is such a simple question thats probably been asked a million times but I just wanted some own personal answers for myself.

So when should I get tested? 1 week later? 2 months? 6 months? etc. I cant stop worrying bout it until i know im negative for sure.

Please give me any advice or steps I need to take. This is driving me crazy.

If you had receptive anal sex (mean you were on the receiving end), I would highly recommend getting tested. Receptive anal sex is known to be very high risk so it is best to get tested now and then probably again at 3 months and 6 months just to be sure.

There are plenty of online services that can get you tested for HIV can set it up locally for you. One suggestion is tstd.org. They also have counselors that can answer questions you might have.

When I got tested via a sexual health clinic, they advised that i should wait 6 weeks after having unprotected sex before getting tested.
Apparently STIs can take that long to show up in testing methods currently used.
Would highly recommended getting Hep B vaccinations as well and making sure your tested for all forms of STIs.
