I just went for my PAP test this morning and it hurt more than other ones that I have had! Is that normal, also I some spotting, is that normal as well?

Hi Miranda,

No two pap smear are the same. It depends on the person giving it and the size instrument being used. Perhaps what was used on you was not the correct size, this can often cause both, bleeding and pain. Take a warm sitz bath and if you don't get any relief in a couple of days call the doctor but hopefully in a few days all will be well. If not please call the doctor.
